Hungary to build Europe’s first 5G railway terminal

Hungary will build Europe’s first smart rail logistics terminal at East-West Gate intermodal combi terminal in Fenyeslitke. The terminal will be installed with the private 5G network. Vodafone Hungary and Huawei Technologies will provide the technology. 5G technology will be used to remotely control fully automatic gantry cranes for loading and unloading operations. With 5G’s high transmission speed and low latency, staff can complete their work remotely by sitting in the central control room equipped with 5G-supported high-definition video.
