Humanoid robot Neo arrives for homes
1X Technologies introduces a robot named Neo, capable of lifting heavy objects, organising belongings, and assisting with everyday domestic tasks safely.
Neo, developed by US-based 1X Technologies, is the first humanoid robot designed for direct home use. Measuring 5′6″ and weighing 66 lb (≈30 kg), it can perform household chores such as folding laundry, tidying, and fetching items, lift heavy objects, and respond to natural voice commands.
Equipped with tendon-drive actuation and human-level hand dexterity, Neo moves quietly and safely around domestic spaces. Its vision and audio systems allow object recognition, conversation, and remote monitoring, while a soft exterior reduces the risk of injury.
Onboard AI combines local large-language models with cloud updates, enabling Neo to learn new skills through guided sessions with owners or remote 1X Experts.
Teleoperated learning occurs only with explicit consent, ensuring privacy, and routine maintenance will support long-term reliability for household use.
