Guinea adopts MOSIP for its national digital identification programme

The government of Guinea has contracted the digital ID company Tech5 for its national digital ID programme. Tech5 will use its Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) that is built using the open-source MOSIP identity management platform. MOSIP is an open-source technology designed for public sector digital ID based enterprises. It operates as a platform which services such as distribution of goods and services can be built on. Once a person is identified using their foundational ID, they can access the goods and services offered by various agencies on the platform. Once implemented, Guinea wil be among the first African countries to adopt open source digital ID.
