GSMA urges to support 5G spectrum allocation

The GSMA called on governments and regulators around the world to commit to supporting the needs of 5G spectrum allocation. The company sees a worldwide agreement on spectrum allocation as a precondition of a successful 5G uptake.  The GSMA also published a position paper with policy recommendations to ensure the 5G future. The recommendations include a harmonised high-frequency mobile spectrum, national governments encouraging long-term investment in 5G, and promoting the importance of the World Radiocommunication Conference in 2019 (WRC-19) in the whole process.
