The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Port of Los Angeles (POLA), and Port of Long Beach (POLB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the support of C40 Cities to establish a green and digital shipping corridor between Singapore and the San Pedro Bay port complex. This corridor aims to promote decarbonisation in the maritime industry and increase efficiency through digitalisation.

C40 Cities will act as the facilitator of the green and digital shipping corridor, offering support to the cities, ports, and their partners.

The MoU intends to identify and collaborate on pilot and demonstration projects as well as develop standards and best practices for green ports and the use of alternative marine fuels. This includes sharing experiences at international platforms to identify digital shipping solutions.
