Google shares tips to parents for protecting children online

On Safer Internet Day Google shared tips to parents for protecting their children online.

Research conducted by Google in Asia-Pacific (Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam) and Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico) found that parents of children attending classes online were more concerned about the safety of their children online than  parents whose children were attending school in person. Privacy and security of the children’s information were the top concerns among the parents surveyed.

To support parents in protecting their children online, the online safety education lead at Google shared a few safety tips, such as teaching children to choose strong passwords, knowing what children do online and who they interact with, offering age appropriate content, and explaining the various safety features Google provides.
