Google reports on the use of encryption on its websites

Google announced it has included a new section in its Transparency Report dedicated to reporting on the use of encryption on its own websites and across the web. According to the company, over 75% of requests to its servers are using encrypted connections. Gmail and Google Drive are the two Google products that use HTTPS connections by default. Google has also put together a top of 100 non-Google sites (accounting for about 25% of all global website traffic), showing which of them support or do not support forms of encryption.
