Google launches first cloud region in South Korea

Technology giant Google has launched its first cloud region in Seoul, South Korea. While the first in South Korea, this is Google’s eighth in the Asia-Pacific region. Globally, Google’s cloud network would now be extended through 21 regions and 64 zons across 16 countries. This newest cloud region contains three zones and the intent is to connect into robotics, artificial intelligence and online games which are areas of focus for South Korea. Google has previously indicated its intention to provide specific enhanced services for the Asia-Pacific and also expects to triple its workforce in the region.
