Google has agrees to comply with Russian regulators on censoring websites

After resisting the Russian regulators in 2018, Google has agreed to recieve a registry containing a list of banned websites to exclude from search results displayed to users within Russia. Google caved into pressure by Russian authorities who threatened to ban the search engine in Russia. This development comes after Russia opened civil proceedings against Facebook and Twitter for not complying with Russian data storage requirements. Russian legislation requires Russian user’s personal data to be stored on servers within Russia.
