Google faces fine for abusing dominant position in Turkey

Turkey’s competition authority fined Google more than $36 million for having abused its dominant position in search engine services. The competition authority considered that Google favours its own price comparison for accommodation businesses and its local search services over those of competitors. Google has 6 months to ensure that competitors are not in a disadvantageous position, in addition to having the obligation to report on the issue to the competition authority for five years.
