Google backs OECD’s plan for taxing digital services

Google has backed the efforts made by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to set a multilateral taxing digital  service. Google’s Chief Executive Sundar Pichai stated, ‘Digital taxation is not an issue for an individual company to solve. We would be supportive of the OECD engagement. Google has been concerned with India’s recent decision to impose a 2% digital tax that also applies to advertised revenues earned overseas.
