Global State of Mobile Networks in 2016

OpenSignal has released a report ‚Global State of Mobile Networks‘. The company examined an overall mobile data performance in 95 countries. The measurements showed that although the majority of tested countries had the 3G or 4G networks, the speeds may differ significantly. South Korea had the fastest overall speed of 41.3 Mbps, while the slowest average measured was 2.2 Mbps in Afghanistan. The report also tracks proportion of time the users spent connected to Wi-Fi networks. In many developed countries Wi-Fi has become a far more important mobile data technology than 3G or 4G.
