GCHQ report highlights use of AI to prevent child sexual abuse online

UKs Intelligence Agency Government Communication Headquarters has published a paper Ethics of AI: Pioneering a New National Security sharing how the agency is using technologies such as AI to prevent child exploitation online.

The paper outlines how AI is aiding them in spotting fake news online, mapping international networks involved in drug and human trafficking and identifying child sexual abusers online.

The paper proposed GCHQs intent to support the AI sector, including setting up industry facing lab at their Manchester office, mentoring and supporting startups and supporting the national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.
