FTC chair expresses support to US federal privacy law

During the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Federal Trade Commission Chair expressed his support for a new federal privacy legislation in the United-States. But, Joe Simons also argued it would be a “huge mistake” to build a new privacy regulatory agency. According to Barrons, the FTC chairman is pushing Congress to create new privacy rules that do not reduce competition, and do not favor large Internet platforms over new entrants.
