Frost & Sullivan report highlights the role of Internet penetration in economic development

Frost & Sullivan has released a report entitled Role of Internet Penetration in Economic Development: How to Prioritize a Collaborative Approach to Bridge the Digital Divide in Emerging Markets?The report stresses the importance of a ‘collaborate approach between the public sector, private sector, consumers, and non-governmental organizations to achieve an inclusive information society by means of complete commitment to each constituent’s respective role.’ With Internet penetration, significant growth can be achieved in different sectors of the economy. The report argues that the main drivers of Internet will be urbanisation, a growing middle class, availability of smartphones and mobile Internet adoption.
