French CNIL launches consultation on minors’ digital rights

The French data protection authority Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) has launched a public consultation on the digital rights of minors. According to the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the consultation, closing on June 1, will help the CNIL adopt recommendations as it continues to develop  a framework and provide advice on the subject. The CNIL seeks feedback on minors’ ability to exercise their data rights and on systems helping to verify the age of users and gathering their consent.
