Freedom of expression and the private sector in the digital age

According to the 2016 report to the UN Human Rights Council, by David Kaye, Special Rapporteur on freedom of expression, online expression is more and more affected by private networks and platforms created, maintained, and operated by ICT sector companies and organisations, as well as governments. The report makes seven recommendations, principally to governments, private entities, and international organisations, and includes written submissions of input from 15 States and 15 organisations. Freedom of expression and the private sector in the digital age  provides an overview of the report.
