Messenger Kids the Messaging app from Facebook for children below 13 years, where they can chat with other children approved by their parents  has reported  a “ design flaw” that may have  allowed unapproved  users including adults  to join group chats of kids.

It may be mentioned that while children using Messenger Kids can only talk to each other when parents approve their friendship, however, in group chats there is a possibility for a child to come into contact with a third person who, while approved by one child’s parent, was not approved by the other.

The company has stated that they have informed the parents of the Messenger Kids account users about this error and  turned  off the affected chats. However, they have not confirmed how long the flaw was active.
