First lawsuit concluded following introduction of new general data protection regulation in Brazil
According to ZDNet, the first lawsuit based on the General Data Protection Regulation (LGPD) was concluded in a case involving one of the largest real estate companies in Brazil. The case was initiated by a customer of the company. A São Paulo court has ordered the company to pay 10 000 reals (US$1759) in compensation for sharing that particular customer’s personal information without authorisation.
