First of 18 ICT Hubs launched in Georgetown, Guyana

In an effort to bridge the digital divide, Guyana’s Ministry of Public Telecommunications has launched the first of 18 planned ICT hubs, in Agricola, Greater Georgetown, providing free Internet access to residents and access to online government services. The hub is equipped with 10 computers and is a much-needed development for secondary school students, which will be instrumental for conducting research and completing their school assignments. A total of 400 hubs are expected to be up and running all across the country by 2020.
