Finland advances plans to build quantum computer

The VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and quantum computing company IQM have established a co-innovation partnership to build Finland’s first quantum computer. IQM was selected to contribute to the project following an international public tender launched earlier this year. The Government of Finland will contribute €20.7 million in funding to the initiative, for which the overall goal is to build a 50-qubit computer by 2024.
