Facebook suspends and restores Brazilian deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro’s account
Facebook temporarily suspended Eduardo Bolsonaro’s page for 30 days, after he had posted content criticizing the results of electoral polls and shared a phrase attributed to Adolf Hitler. After the suspension, Bolsonaro filed a lawsuit against Facebook requesting full access to his account back, claiming that the blocking is a form of censorship, which occurred in a ‘vague and unjustified manner, without any possibility of prior defense, restricting his right to free expression in a unilateral and authoritarian manner’. The request was denied by the judge, however, on the same day, Facebook decided to cancel the punishment, announcing that his account was improperly removed and has already been restored.
