Facebook releases mid-year Transparency report

Facebook released its transparency report for the first half of 2019. According to IAPP, the report indicates that government requests increased by 16% since the second half of last year. The U.S. government filed the most requests compared to other countries. Facebook Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Chris Sonderby said “as we have said in prior reports, we always scrutinize every government request we receive for account data to make sure it is legally valid”.
