Facebook to change its news feed algorithm
Facebook will change its news feed algorithm in order to teach its artificial intelligence (AI) systems to target borderline content and stop its distribution. This decision comes after an internal study showing that user engagement spikes when sensationalist content is left unchecked. To curb this trend, Facebook aims at penalising ‘borderline content’, namely content that is close to the limit between what is permitted or not according to the platform’s guidelines.
