Facebook announces the blockchain department
In a recent Facebook push for improving their service, company is moving toward experimenting with the blockchain distributed data ledger. Facebook appointed one of its senior staff Mr David Makrus as a blockchain department manager. Prior to Facebook, Markus was the president of the PayPal company and was in the board of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. Focusing more on blockchain and cryptocurrencies is a plan from the senior executive to move toward decentralised solution, in a search for better privacy and full data control. On the other hand, some of the researchers doubt decentralised approach can help improve Facebook centralised business model.
