European Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy releases statement on Universal Children’s Day

On the occasion of Universal Children’s Day,  the European Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy released a statement reiterating their commitment  to protect the rights of each child both online and in the real world. 

The statement,mentions the measures taken to protect and empower children online for a safer digital environment, highlighting the various initiatives funded by the EU such as the Safer Internet Centres, the Betteinternetforkids.eu portal; the  #SaferInternet4EU campaign promoting online safety, media literacy and cyber-hygiene which has reached nearly 30 million EU citizens. The statement also states support to multi-stakeholder initiatives to fight against crime and child sexual exploitation online.
