EU- US resume negotiations on an agreement to facilitate access to electronic evidence

The US Department of Justice and the European Commission have revived negotiations on an EU-US agreement on facilitating access to electronic evidence as part of criminal investigations. Negotiations began initially in 2019 but were put on hold while the EU worked on its e-evidence legislation. During the month of March, officials from the Commission and the US Department of Justice will meet in Sweden to continue work on a transatlantic deal.
