EU defies US and supports Huawei use in 5G networks

The European Union released a list of guidelines surrounding the involvement of vendors like China’s Huawei, which they describe as being high-risk in the implementation of 5G networks. Individual EU member states will decide which equipment is part of their 5G infrastructure, however the EU commission has developed security best practices to guide the countries in their rollout.  There are similarities between the EU’s guidelines and the UK’s decision to assess the risk and limit the role of high-risk vendors in critical parts of the infrastructure.
