Estonia passes telecom security reviews law

Estonia’s parliament has passed a new Electronics Communications Act which will ensure that telecom equipment undergoes a security review inclusive of checks by the intelligence services before deployment to any future telecommunication networks. Estonia shares similar concerns as the United States about the security of 5G networks which have been the focus of global security discussions due to the critical functions they will support like driverless cars and military communications.
