Dr Peter Mbah, Governor of Enugu State, Nigeria, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accelerated development initiatives and the digital revolution for children. In his statement on the 2023 African Children’s Day, he said that the state government’s priority is to initiate and implement policies that will provide children with the necessary environment to realize their potential and enjoy the benefits of childhood.

The early and accelerated learning program will also provide Enugu children with high-quality digital and vocational education, which they will require to flourish in today’s and tomorrow’s global economy and competitiveness.

Peter Mbah has also expressed his commitment to confronting the numerous obstacles that prevent Enugu children from enjoying their full rights as enshrined in the 1959 UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child, the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the Enugu State Child Rights and Responsibilities Act as a community.
