ENISA makes recommendations for enhancing cybersecurity in smart airports

The European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) published a report on ‘Securing smart airports’, aimed to serve as a guide for airport decision makers on how to implement available good practice to secure passengers and operations. The report notes that airports making use of integrated Internet of Things (IoT) components are exposed to increasing cybersecurity challenges, which they need to address by improving the security and resilience of their operations. Recommendations include: prioritising cybersecurity for safety; establishing a clear airport cybersecurity posture and allocating cybersecurity experts and resources; constant revision of cybersecurity policies and practices based on good practices monitoring ; implementing  network-based, holistic risk and threat management policies and processes for cybersecurity.
