Encrypted communications app favored by criminals shut down; Dutch and German authorities took down Exclu app, utilized by organized crime for drug and firearm trafficking. Two drug labs found, 5.5 million cash, and 20 firearms seized.
Dutch and German authorities dismantled the Exclu application, which was used by organised crime groups, among other users. Exclu is used for encrypted chats or mail and ensures that any third party does not access users’ data. As such, organised criminal groups used this application for their criminal activities, including drug or firearm trafficking. So far, two drug laboratories were dismantled, EUR 5.5 million cash, and 20 firearms were seized.
