Dutch MEP challenges café health check policy due to privacy concerns

According to DutchNews, Sophie in’t Veld, a Dutch MEP, has asked the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) if it is legal for cafés and restaurants to ask their customers detailed questions about their personal health and record their answers. As entering public spaces become more and more conditional to providing personal data, in’t Veld asked the EDPB if such practices could be in line with the GDPR, and how data protection authorities should ensure restaurants and café fulfil their obligations in terms of data protection.
