Dubai announced as the ‘Digital Capital of the Middle East’ in 2019

Dubai emerged as a leading city in the field of smart transformation by a host of recent global reports. Dubai was qualified for this position because of an array of digital initiatives that supported the city’s digital transformation to cover all services and operations of the local government. The 130 smart initiatives that were launched during the past few years include: Paperless Dubai, The BlockChain initiative, Smart Cities Global Network, The Dubai Data initiative, and The Artificial Intelligence Lab. ‘Several global indicators have designated Dubai as the 1st in digital transformation in the Middle East and North Africa. And with great pride we say that today, Dubai has also surpassed major international cities in this smart transformation drive,’ tweeted Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.
