Digital rights groups call to strengthen Irish tracing app privacy

According to Bloomberg, a coalition of privacy advocates has called the Irish government to build strong data protection measures into its Coronavirus contact tracing app. The Irish Council for Civil Liberties, together with Digital Rights Ireland and data protection experts published a principled framework for the development of a contact tracing app. The document outlines nine principles which must be followed if the government is to ensure the app aligns with legal and human rights requirements and protects privacy.
