Department of Homeland Security open CSAM investigation against TikTok

The Department of Homeland Security has initiated investigations against TikTok over child sexual abuse material (CSAM) material being posted both in public and private in its platform. Is has been reported that the Department of Justice is reviewing  how a specific privacy feature on TikTok is being exploited by abusers.

It is alleged that the platform is being used by child abusers for grooming and accused for failing to take proactive measures to prevent and detect grooming attempts. It is reported that TikTok moderators have not been able to keep up with the volume of abusive content posted in its public feed and that abusers have been  exploiting a privacy feature offered by TikTok.
