Cynerio’s research highlights IoMT vulnerabilities

Cynerio published a study about IoMT. The research is based on an analysis of over 10 million IoT and IoMT devices collected from current Cynerio implementations at over 300 hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the US and around the world. The study’s main conclusions were as follows: (1) 53% of IoMT and IoT devices contain critical risks; (2) The most common IoMT and IoT device risks are connected to default passwords and settings that attackers can obtain from manuals posted online; (3) Most healthcare centers and facilities (excluding hospitals) use outdated Windows versions for IoMT, and (4) Most healthcare IoT devices are used regularly, making them difficult to be updated.
