Cuba signs deal for faster Internet access to Google content

Cuba signs deal for faster Internet access to Google content, reported BBC. As part of the deal, Google will deploy servers on the island, allowing the local telco provider (ETECSA) to cache and serve the most popular content, like YouTube videos. This reduces latency and improves speed, giving Cubans who already have access to Internet a better quality of service. The overall Internet accessibility will not be improved as the connectivity of the whole country is still very poor.
