Copenhagen to ban shared electric scooters

The city of Copenhagen announced it will no longer be possible to rent or park an electric scooter in most parts of the city’s business and historic centre from 1 January 2021. In practice, the measure will affect companies that rent bikes from their apps and their users. The restriction aims to ensure the safety of elderly pedestrian traffic in the affected areas.. The shared scooters have been blamed for making it difficult for seniors to walk safely on sidewalks.
