‘Collaborative Research and Training Experience in Sustainable Electronics and Eco-Design’ initiative launched in Canada

Polytechnique Montréal in Canada has launched the nationwide ‘Collaborative Research and Training Experience in Sustainable Electronics and Eco-Design’ (CREATE SEED) initiative, which will gather 20 Canadian and international universities and industrial partners to improve e-waste management and promote eco-design. The project has both research and training objectives. It aims to establish a radically different approach to training the next generation of engineers, designers, and analysts and alter their view on e-waste; in terms of research, rethinking electronic product design, and developing manufacturing processes that minimise e-waste environmental footprint.
