Climate Action: Latest Business Technologies for Meeting the SDGs

A UN event was convened under the theme Climate Action: Latest Business Technologies for Meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on 4 October 2019 in New York, United States. The event which was organised by the Government of Slovenia, NGO Sustainability, and ROTH Capital Partners, was attended by a number of stakeholders including governments, private sector, academia, and civil society. The event was inaugurated by the Permanent Representative of Slovenia Darja Bavdaž Kuret who called upon governments to ‘finally listen to the science’ and adopt policies that restrain the global temperature rise. During the event, several presentations were delivered by representatives from the industry working on different areas that correspond to SDGs including e-waste recycling and environmentally friendly gold mining (SDG12), hydrogen fuel cell, geothermal energy, and solar (SDG7), and clean water (SDG6). The presentations pinpointed the efforts made by the industry to adopt environmentally-friendly formulas and technologies in their businesses.
