Cisco-NITDA partnership to drive digital skills development in Nigeria
The collaboration is centered around two key pillars: Innovate and Educate. Cisco EDGE in Lagos will serve as an innovation hub for digitization efforts and networking.
Cisco and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in Nigeria have signed an agreement to support Nigeria’s digital transformation goals and enhance digital skills training. Cisco’s Incubation and Innovation Centre in Lagos, known as Cisco EDGE, will serve as a hub for innovation and digitisation initiatives, providing a platform for local partners to showcase technologies and hold client events.
The collaboration will focus on two pillars: Innovate, which supports local innovators and entrepreneurs in developing secure and connected solutions, and Educate, which offers education and career opportunities for learners, educators, and communities through technology.
The memorandum is part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program. Cisco and NITDA aim to expand the Cisco Networking Academy in Nigeria, providing IT training and hands-on learning experiences. The agreement was acknowledged by Cisco’s Vice President for Middle East & Africa and NITDA’s Acting Director during the Cisco Networking Academy EMEA Partner Conference in Paris.
