Chinese Internet users lost about 14 billion USD due to spam over the past year

According to Chinese Internet service providers, cited by The Economic Times, Chinese Internet users lost 13.93 billion USD over the past year due to online spam and leakage of personal information. On average, each Chinese netizen received 18.9 junk emails every week in the first half of 2016. The same estimations show that each netizen spent an average of 3.6 hours dealing with spam and personal information theft.
