China’s central bank considers all digital currencies illegal
China’s central bank, the People’s Bank of China has stated that any digital currency, such as services offering trading, order matching, token issuance, and derivatives for virtual currencies will be strictly prohibited. Further, any overseas cryptocurrency exchanges that provide services in mainland China will also be considered illegal. The central bank has also indicated strict enforcement and crackdown on such illegal activities.
