China requires foreign travelers health QR code to fly

The Embassy of China in the USA announced that the Chinese embassy and consulates will issue QR code with ‘HDC’, which stands for health declaration code, to foreign travelers who are to fly from the USA to China. The new rule will be into effect on 1 December, 2020. Foreign passengers can apply for the QR code with HDC on a designated website. The passengers are required to fill in their information, declare their health status, and upload the test certificates, passport, itinerary, and other documents required online, followed by the verification by the Chinese embassy and consulates in the USA. In order to receive a HDC QR code, travelers must take an antibody test and nucleic acid test within 48 hours of boarding their flights. The notice stated that foreign passengers must present the electronic or printed code during boarding.
