Caribbean states commit to hazardous waste management

Nine Small Island Developing States (SIDS) have gathered to launch the Implementing Sustainable Low and Non-Chemical Development in Small Island Developing States (ISLANDS) programme, with the aim of tackling chemical and waste management in these countries. Worth US$450 million, the five-year programme intends to bring governments and other stakeholders from the region together to develop and enact legislation on chemicals and waste management, including e-waste and discarded vehicles.
