Canadian cruise ship passengers hit by data breach

According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), the personal data of 247 Zaandam cruise ship Canadian passengers were e-mailed to an unknown number of people by the federal Canadian government. Following an administrative error, an e-mail was mistakenly on April 1 with an attachment containing personal information on each passenger — including their address, date of birth, e-mail, phone number, and passport number. A complaint was filed about the breach with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
