Broadband Commission pushes for action to extend Internet access and boost capacity to fight COVID-19

According to a press release, the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development has in an emergency virtual meeting adopted an Agenda of Action outlining how governments, industry, and civil society can pool network and infrastructure resources as an immediate measure to boost network access and inclusiveness in an effort to strengthen the global response to the COVID-19 crisis.

The action agenda, which is built around the three pillars of resilient connectivity, affordable access, and safe use of online services for informed and educated societies, will serve as ‘a framework for the Commission’s 50+ Commissioners and their organisations to share their own initiatives, make new commitments, and foster collaboration and partnership’.
