Bipartisan US lawmakers reintroduce CONNECT for Health Act

According to a report, a bipartisan group comprising half of the US senators reintroduced the Creating Opportunities Now for Necessary and Effective Care Technologies (CONNECT) for Health Act of 2021. The bill would expand coverage of Medicare telehealth services and make telehealth flexibilities that were introduced in light of the COVID-19 pandemic permanently available. The legislation would permanently remove all geographic restrictions on telehealth services and expand the definition of originating sites to include the home and other sites, while providing the Secretary of Health and Human Services with the permanent authority to remove telehealth restrictions.
