Belgian DPA releases its 2019 annual report

According to Hunton Andrews Kurth, the Belgian data protection authority (DPA) has released its annual report for 2019. The DPA indicated it handled 6447 cases in 2019 and that 90% of those cases were related to the EU’s GDPR. Also, in May 2019, the Belgian DPA imposed its first fine under the GDPR for abusive use of personal data in violation of the GDPR purpose limitation principle.
